Join the Family Reading Partnership, the Tompkins County Public Library, Cayuga Nature Center and over 30 community organizations for this year’s Kids’ Book Fest (KBF)! Children and their families are invited to explore this year’s nature-inspired theme, “Books, Naturally,” at this day-long event filled with arts, crafts, performances, installations, interactive experiences, and much more. This event brings together thousands of families from Tompkins County as a celebration of family engagement with books, the value and joy of reading together, and our community’s commitment to children and families. It is free and open to all. Sponsorship by U.S. Fish & Wildlife and Wegmans helps provide copies of the featured book, “Whose Tracks Are These? A Clue Book of Familiar Forest Animals” by Jim Nail and Hyla Skudder, to 3,700 children! KBF is made possible by support from Wegmans and an anonymous donor.
Start saving your gently used children's items and other goods to donate for our annual spring garage sale fundraiser on May 14th!
The purpose of the Kids' Book Fest is to establish a community-wide celebration that brings parents and children together around excitement for children's books. The festival includes art, entertainment, and activities all based on books. Local authors are showcased. Community organizations are invited to host a story-related book station. Read-aloud environments based on books are set up for children to visit, and book characters walk around the Fest promoting specific books. Food and books are available for festival-goers to purchase.
We are now accepting applications for our 2015-2016 School Year! To maximize our adult to child ratio, we limit our class size to just 16 children per day. If you are interested in attending UCNS, please contact us to schedule a visit or fill out an online application form today! We can't wait to meet you!
